Pub 116: The Park Bar
Shock horror - a patopubs review on a monday night. In truth, I did make a start on one when I got in from the pub last night, but I was a bit mwi and my patter was even worse than usual so scrapped it.
So much so, that when I got into the close, 'old dementia alan' from one of the downstairs flats was stumbling about, lost and confused. I did my best to be helpful but I think in the end he was the one that put me to bed, rather than the other way around.
And, as such, I think the park bar probably did its job: stayed cosy, fed me with lots of excellent pints of T, and dazzled in its beautiful wooden interior. In my mind, it's probably the perfect interior for the christmas eve lock-in of my dreams.
But, honestly, the best part was watching 4 bar staff struggle to change the TV over to the rugby. It reminded me of a classic scottish twitter quote that I hold dearly:
'pub bar staff trying to work a TV remote is like watching a donkey try to build a car'. ♥️
