Pub 98: The Islay Inn

I'd absolutely love to know where the connection between the highlands & islands and finnieston came from. All in the space of about 2 blocks you've got the islay inn, the park bar, the ben nevis and the snaffle bit. Quite likely the greatest concentration per square mile of trad sessions in the country.

Imagining whole communities trudging down amongst the desperation and misery of the highland clearances and deciding upon seeing the OVO hydro that this is where they wanted to settle.

I'm getting distracted, but the main point here is that the Islay is a lovely wee hideaway off the strip. Throw 8 whisky dorks in there and they're in dreamland. Also been reliably informed that the sunday roast is absolutely world class.
