Pub 99: The Grant Arms

I've been fascinated by this building for all the years that I've walked past. Used to stoop under the hielenmans umbrella on the way for the train, tempted to stop in for a pint en-route, but for some reason always put it off.

Ended up doing the glasgow central tour last year and the tour guide explained that it's the last remaining building from the old village of Grahamston that sat on this site prior to the station being constructed. When I read that the Glasgow City Heritage Trust had put up £100,000 to restore the original facade, I decided it was finally time to swing open those big wooden doors and head on in.

However, whilst the exterior is classic kevin mccloud, the interior is pure blighty's hardest boozers. LED downlights, gumsy grins, flashy puggies, and walls the same colour of grey as your auntie's crushed velvet couch.

Got so carried away that I took a swig straight from a whisky bottle at the bar and got us kicked out. Wasn't going back anyways!
