Tonight, we are firmly in the territory of work night out / 'great place to watch the six nations' pubs. Quite exactly the territory you should try to avoid at all times if possible.
Don't get me wrong, I love the six nations and I particularly love a work night out, but the brown brogues and boot-cut jeans crew are part-timers of the drinking world. If they're not YOUR work pals, or YOUR rugby-watching pals, it just ain't worth it.
As long as it's outwith the six nations time of year, and before 8pm, these places are usually fine. This is the case with the auctioneers. A genuinely alright pub with loads of room and more telly's than the VAR room. Extremely good location too as, depending on how your night is going, you can go nextdoor to either the Citizen (classy night) or Kong (the worst night of your life).
