Pub 119: The Allison Arms

Though I may now be a bona-fide member of the maryhill high society, it's always enjoyable to spread the wings and go for a nice change of scenery. And whilst the weird gaza strip bit of pollokshields between the O2 and the star bar wasn't exactly what I'd had in mind, I was just pleased to be on my way for trad, pints and patter.

Thankfully, the small stretch of boozers from the koelschip yard through to the torrisdale tavern is a wonderful respite from the gangland warfare of govanhill, and its bizarre faux maccies.

But at the heart of it all is the allison arms. It's so clearly a great local as we ended up running into so many old pals in such a small space and had a lovely good time. Heard the karaoke is a right hoot so that's the plan for round 2.
