Ah, dear old wintersgills. I'm a bit of an architecture guy and have always admired the big art-deco sign, drawing your attention and inviting you into a bygone era.

So when we finally ventured in on Saturday night, this very fate awaited us. Except the bygone era that we entered was not the roaring 20's, but the Glasgow gangland scene of the 80's. A bit of a surprise, but not unenjoyable.

Picked up our pints, scanned the main bar for seats, and decided to try the lounge bar instead. Took about 3 steps in and had to stop dead. Every head in the place turned to face, dropped their pints, and it felt as though we'd just walked in on an arthur thompson special in the provanmill inn. The barwoman swiftly jogged through and said, verbatim, 'lads, I'd head back through here unless you want your heids bitten aff'.

10/10, will be back. Just wish I'd gotten a snap in the lounge 😢.
