Pub 94: The Florida Park
Firstly, following some confusion, I'd like to clear up how the official Patopubs Scoring Matrix® works. It's really not too complex, but the idea is to rate a pub only against what it is trying to be, rather than put everything on the one playing field.
A classy cocktail bar could score an 8.5 if it time-capsules you all the way back to '20s manhattan, the same way that a dodgy dive bar without cubicle doors (priory) could get a 9 if it provides the desired atmosphere.
Thus, when a pub like the florida park comes along and does exactly as it says on the tin, you can't really fault it. Linda behind the bar takes 3 orders at once, old geezers give you some seriously questionable patter, and the selection of taps is so brexit than I think farage might even wince at the sight.
Short back and sides and £9 cocktail pitcher. Not complaining.
