Alpen Lodge

This page has never had decorum and, even now that a not-insignificant number of internet people have arrived, now doesn't seem like a good time to start.

And in top sunday night form we're in the alpen lodge, a truly fascinating wee boozer sitting on the miniature zante strip that is hope street. The incredible and somewhat bizarre swiss frontage belies the proper old school watering hole behind. The absolute fire hazard of a pie oven has got me in absolute bits, and has me thinking this is exactly what the laurieston would be if it wasn't for the sub crawl. So in my mind it is quite a relic to be treasured.

Not quite sure how we missed it, but apparently there is a proper party room downstairs. Bouncer must have taken one look at us, glanced the cords and chinos, and thought no way chaps and steered us away.

Will need to return and investigate this mysterious rave basement as a matter of urgency.
