Pub 45: Platform
Enjoyed my time at platform last night, but the mixture of the london black stout and a stodgy chippy supper later on meant my stomach today has been about as stable as reactor 4 at chernobyl. Anyways, inspired by the occasion, and like Christ himself, I have risen from the dead and am back on the randan again tonight for some laugh live at the pavilion.
Platform is pretty much stretching what you can actually call a pub but with the rate that I'm flying through the long list, I'm as well just rating anywhere with an alcohol license at this point. It actually feels more like an events venue than anything else and it just too big to know what to do with itself.
I mean, there were 30-odd yesterday from work smashing down the pints while there was a kids bday party a few tables over. I mean cmaaan, at least partition it up into rooms if that's the case. It's still a good boozer though and there is a lovely selection of beers on tap so you could definitely spend some time here. Just wish they'd force everyone together and get the atmosphere up.
Still, I'm glad to see the old arches back in use again so I can't complain too much. Don't want to start sounding like my da.
