I do joke, but I think this might have been a glimpse of the radio 6 retiree lifestyle that I'm destined for. After all, this was a far comfier atmosphere, amongst the flat caps and the raggedy overshirts, than I've experienced in a while.
This is what wednesday nights in april are all about. Sitting outside the pub to enjoy the sun, even though it's definitely not quite warm enough to do so, drinking 3 pints @ £6.30 a pop, then attending a spoken word poetry gig by land yacht regatta that martyn shepherd will later describe as transcendental (he truly doesn't help himself).

And it was definitely the most I've enjoyed cottiers in ages. I was giving it the swerve for the longest time after a couple of dodgy dates, and the news of the mouse infestation was enough to seal the deal 🐀.
So, for now, whilst the sun is out, I'll do my best to enjoy it and keep an eye out for passing rodents.
